GUITAR LESSONS
Guitar is the instrument people most often teach themselves halfway and then get stuck. A lot of what I do with adult players is untangling that: the chord change that never got smooth, the barre chord that buzzes, the strumming hand that won't keep time.
Acoustic or electric, both work. I play fingerstyle and country on acoustic, and hard rock, blues and metal on electric, so bring whatever you actually want to play.
We work on:
- tuning by ear and with a tuner, and why your guitar keeps drifting
- open chords, barre chords, and changing between them without stopping
- reading chord charts, lead sheets and tablature
- reading standard notation, if you want it
- strumming and picking patterns
- fingerstyle
- playing chords so you can sing along or accompany someone else
- theory as it comes up: keys, capo use, why certain chords sit together
A cheap guitar that's set up well is easier to play than an expensive one that isn't. If yours feels like a fight, show it to me on camera and we'll work out whether it's you or the instrument.
